Casa Cenote: I dived with Jaguar Divers, specifically with Michael, into the Casa Cenote.
Safety and Professionalism: 10/10. Michael stayed close, ensuring I was always okay. I got all the gear I needed and it felt very comfortable, safe, … More and exactly as you’d expect from a PADI-certified instructor and organisation.
Adventure: 10/10. Casa Cenote has some beautiful features between light and dark, interesting rock formations, little caverns, cool wildlife, and awesome mangroves which hang right above you. I also was about 1.5m from a very awake American crocodile! For someone with just Open Water certification, and only 6 dives under my belt before this, I was able to experience a very mystical, trippy/eerie environment which looked breathtaking without taking the risks of cave diving. Michael checked how I was on the first dive and then on the second took me into some interesting features which expanded on my experience by seeing the effects of a halochline and also upswells from caverns. Not only did I enjoy the dive but I felt like I was challenged and pushed in a safe way, for which I am grateful.
Guide: 10/10. Michael was incredibly hospitable, and since lunch was included we went to this local taco place and K had his suggestion of tacos. He mentored me throughout the day, didn’t rush a thing, it felt like we had all the time in the world. He was really interesting and the conversation was just as top notch as the diving. Not to mention he also took me out the way to an ATM so that I could cash. Michael also got lots of pics and videos of me throughout the dive using my GoPro and this was just out of generosity, not a formally included photography package or anything. That was very kind.
Facilities: 5/10. This is not to do with Jaguar divers as they only visit Casa Cenote and are not in control of the facilities there. However, if visiting be aware that there are not changing rooms at the cenote so you must be comfortable changing in and out of diving gear by the car. I recommend coming wearing swimming clothes underneath and being comfortable changing under a towel. As a guy this was fine for me. There is also no tap, I recommend bringing hand sanitizer and water shoes for a more comfortable experience visiting the toilet.
*note it costs MXN $100 to use a GoPro, which I highly recommend as I came away with astonishing footage.
Overall: 10/10. Would love to dive again with Jaguar divers if I return to Playa del Carmen. -

I got my advance adventure dive certification over the past three days and had a great experience. I wanted to improve and hone skills beyond a recreational dive on vacation. Liz who owns Jaguar divers switched up my plan to accommodate … More my friend and Micheal, my instructor, was patient with advice after every dive and setting up exercises/circuits. I hope to return and enjoy the reef, cenotes, and sharks again!

I did three days of diving with Michael at Jaguar and had the best time. The reef dives were fun, and the cenote dive is a once in a lifetime, not to be missed experience! Michael was incredibly friendly, kind, thorough, and safe, all … More the things you most want in a guide. Liz who runs the operation was easy to communicate with and very attentive. 10/10 would repeat.
