Expand your skills and prepare yourself for future tec courses. Sidemount will open a whole new level of the underground world for you to explore.
This qualification allows you to dive with true redundancy and is often the 1st course on your way towards cave diving with us.
We feel that sidemount is the best set-up for the unique geography of Mexico's caves — it unlocks many dive sites that can be too small for backmount to fit through comfortably.
Sidemount diving uses two independent tanks, which allows for true gas redundancy. This can reduce stress if one tank malfunctions underwater and allows easy access to fix the problem in the water.

Open Water certified
Open Water Scuba Diver or higher.

A minimum of 20 dives before starting the course.
Course structure
The Sidemount course is a minimum of 4 days* and is comprised of theory sessions, confined water skills and dives to provide a solid foundation in your new setup. For technical courses we structure it around your needs — we learn at the pace you need to master the skills, therefore some courses may take longer than 4 days.
This course is perfect to combine with the Cavern Diver Course.
*When combined with other cave courses it may take fewer days. This course can be a PADI or SDI certification — ask us which is best for you.
