Mauri was awesome. My son and I had the best time and it was probably our best dives ever. Great equipment and Mauri went above and beyond explaining things showing us wildlife and got some great videos.
We recently completed 7 days of cenote diving with Jaguar divers and I couldn't recommend them more! Diving was safe, well organised and fun. We had 3 guides during the week- Liz, Oliver and Mauri, all of whom took fantastic care of… More us. Excellent dive centre for exploring the cenotes. Will use them again if/when I come again! I've just spent a wonderful day with Liz doing the Discover Scuba experience, I really can't speak highly enough of her. She was patient, kind and calm- which really helped me work out how to stop panicking about things and progress.… More She gave me time to chill and work out what worked for me, gave me work-arounds for getting me comfortable, and then the dives themselves were fantastic. She gave me all the help and support I needed and we had 2 really good dives on the reef. And she knows what everything is!
If you feel a bit unsure but want to try, Liz will make you comfortable and get the best out of your day- just do it! (I'm definitely coming back, and I will try to faceplant less next time!)
Update- Liz was so good last year, I came back and got my open water certification! Not sure just anyone could have got me through the mental barriers I had, but the SDI course enables the instructor to work with the student on skills in a way that works for them. That flexibility really helped me to gain confidence and come back to the harder parts when I had built my confidence more. My last 2 dives with Gaston were great fun, again what a lovely kind, patient human. I was able to focus on what I needed to for a really good foundation, and now I can't wait to keep learning. And I didn't fall over once this year!
If you want to learn to dive, but you're nervous about it, these are the people you need to teach you. You'll feel safe, supported, and come away with really good experiences. Just do it!
